Austrian federal government starts action plan regarding microplastics

In 2021, a draft for the microplastics action plan was created under the leadership of the Federal Ministry for Climate Protection, Environment, Energy, Mobility, Innovation and Technology (BMK). In this context, previous cooperation partners of the BMK in the field of microplastics were also consulted in order to reflect the current status and to define suitable further measures. A draft of the action plan was available in January 2022.

Now, it is possile to read and give feedback on this new action plan (Aktionsplan Mikroplastik) from the 11th of February until the 11th of Mai 2022. Purency also uses this opportunity to contribute and share its knowledge about microplastics research and its analysis via machine learning.

The action plan is Austria's contribution to the implementation of the EU's "Green Deal", in particular the EU action plan for the circular economy, the EU plastic strategy and the EU action plan for the freedom from pollutants in air, water and soil.
